Skiing can be enjoyed in many ways. At Alpine Valley Resort as at other ski areas, you may see people using alpine, snowboard, telemark, and other specialized equipment, such as that used by disabled or other skiers. Regardless of how you decide to enjoy the slopes, always show courtesy to others and be aware that there are elements of risk in skiing that common sense and personal awareness can help reduce. Observe the code listed below and share with others the responsibility for a great skiing experience.
- Always stay in control
- People ahead of you have the right away
- Stop in a safe place for you and others
- Whenever starting downhill or merging, look uphill and yield
- Use devices to help prevent runaway equipment
- Observe signs and warnings, and keep off closed trails
- Know how to use the lifts properly
Who Are We?
The Alpine Valley Ski Patrol are active registered members of the National Ski Patrol System. The National Ski Patrol was founded in 1938 and follows the creed of "Service and Safety". The organization's members are engaged in patrol activity on the slopes and mountain biking events (First Aid) and in the promotion of safety programs around the country. Safe skiing and snowboarding attitudes are offered to the public continuously in a sincere effort to reduce accidents and make mountain sports more enjoyable.
The Alpine Valley Resort Ski Patrol was formed in 1964 at the time construction began on the buildings of the resort. We are a volunteer organization trained in Outdoor Emergency Care and CPR to help you just in case the unexpected happens. While skiing can be fun and safe, on occasion injuries do occur. We're not doctors or nurses, just trained first aiders. While we hope you don't need our services to rest assured, we're here to answer your questions, help provide you with an enjoyable skiing experience or offer first aid care.
We have been named the Outstanding Patrol in the Nation, Division, and several times in the Region. We currently have approximately 180 active members.
